Inspired by the delicate and colorful glasswork of Dale Chihuly adorning the ceiling of the Bellagio hotel, the primary students of the Oak Classroom created their own wonderland of flowers, corals, and jellyfish out of recycled materials. This project gave them an opportunity to experiment with color, reuse what we might otherwise discard, and see items transform. After observing how spray starch makes washable markers run together and blend on coffee filters, each student bended, twisted, and painted pieces of plastic bottles into floral organic forms.
